Babies in the Barn!
Charlie and Isabelle are both growing to be big, strong and healthy Swiss Brown Cows! They have us in fits of laughter when we go to feed them, they playfully fight over the milk and sometimes even have a little play with a basketball!
Charlie and Isabelle aren't the only babies in the red barn...we now have some black kittens!! Although they are supposed to be catching mice...one of them loves to be picked up and fussed over by us! We have named him Alfie; he's still very little and has a white patch on his neck! So when you next come to see Charlie and Isabelle, be sure to look out for Alfie and his brothers and sisters!

Recipe of the Week!
Corn, Potato & Cheese Soup
Serves 6
2 tbsp butter
2 shallots, finely chopped
8oz/225g potatoes, diced
4 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp dry white wine
1 ¼ cups milk
11 ½ oz/ 325g canned corn kernels, drained
Generous ¾ cup of grated Fleur de la Terre
8-10 fresh sage leaves
Generous 1 ¾ cups heavy cream
Fresh sage sprigs to garnish
Melt the butter in a large, heavy-bottom pan. Add the shallots and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, or until softened. Add the potatoes and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes.
Sprinkle in the flour and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the white wine, then gradually stir in the milk. Return the pan to the heat and bring to a boil stirring constantly, then reduce the heat and simmer.
Stir in the corn kernels, cheese, chopped sage, and cream and heat through gently until the cheese has just melted.
