We Need Oktoberfest Volunteers!!
Calling all Oktoberfest Volunteers....we need you! If you are interested in volunteering during our most fabulous event of the year please call or e-mail Mari at 733-1700 or events@tpforganics .com.
This is a great opportunity for you to help out and have fun. There are two shifts available, 12-3pm and 3-6pm.
Students can aquire their community service hours, as we work to raise money for Traders Point Rural Historic District.

Sunday, October 26th, 2008 from 12 to 6 pm Traders Point Creamery will be hosting Oktoberfest once again. This is truly the most fabulous, fun-filled day on the farm!
Enjoy the Live Music of PolkaBoy's 13-piece Power Band, Hayrides, Bonfires, Cow Milking, Pumpkin Patch, Face Painting, Games, Pet the Baby Calves and more. You may also sample our Award-winning Organic Dairy Products that are made right on the farm!
Traditional German Food, Beer, and Wine available for purchase, as well as Traders Point Creamery Ice Cream, Delicious Cheeses, Baked Goods, Hot Chocolate, and more!
Oktoberfest is a fundraiser to protect over 7,000 acres of remaining greenspace in Traders Point Rural Historic Districts and surrounding areas.
Tickets are $8 in Advance online and $10 at the Gate. Children under 10 years free.
Dinner on the Deck
Friday October 10th, 2008 from 5 to 8 pm
Traders Point Creamery will be grilling out this Friday....the weatherman "guaranteed" us a beautiful fall evening! So join us on the deck for some fabulous all American Food including Traders Point Creamery 100% Grass Fed Organic Hamburgers. We will also be serving local, fresh, handmade Brats that are sure to be delicious. Side dishes for this Friday include homemade vegetarian Baked Beans and Coleslaw with Erika's special slaw dressing....yum! Kids will love our organic all beef hot dogs. Brats will come with Onions and Peppers while hamburgers can be topped with Traders Point Creamery Award Winning Fleur de la Terre Cheese. For a Vegetarian option we will be serving an Organic, marinated and grilled Portabello Mushroom.
All meals come with a choice of Lemonade, Iced Tea, or Milk

Winter Farmers Market Begins November 1st
As we roll into our Winter Farmers Market, we are proud to be the only Year Round Farmers Market in Indiana!
The last Friday Night Farmers Market will be October 24th. Don't worry though, the farmers market will continue through the winter in our beautiful Red Barn! The winter farmers market will begin on November 1st, at Traders Point Creamery on Saturday mornings between 9 and noon. We will have our regular vendors as well as some new ones. Yee-Haw for local food and products!
Saturday Morning Breakfast....Beginning November 1st!
Beginning November 1st we will be serving a delicious country fresh breakfast on the farm. Enjoy a hearty breakfast served from 9 am to 11:30am. In case you miss breakfast, we will also be serving lunch from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm. So rise and shine and make it out to the farm for yummy food and shopping at the farmers market!

This week at the Green Market we’ll continue to have artists as well as our food vendors: wool-filled pillows from Zen Sheep Farm, lovely smelling sachets and incense from Flower Child Aromatherapy, and digital photos printed while you shop from Burton’s Maplewood Farm. Oh, but don’t forget the FOOD! We have an autumn ABUNDANCE of amazingly tasty foods for you to enjoy: snap fresh produce from Seldom Seen, Redwine, Countryside Orchard and Life Farms; delightful baked goods from Valentine Hill Bakery and Harvest Lodge Café; naturally raised meats, cheeses and eggs from Seven Springs, Swiss Connection, Phelp’s, Capriole, Zen Sheep,Murphy Farms and Traders Point Creamery; sweet goodness from Bluffwood Creek Honey and Burton’s Maplewood Farm; prepared foods from Perfect Pick Catering and Farming for Life; and tasty beverages from Peace Leaf

The Green Market runs from 4-8pm every Friday night, rain or shine, from now through October 24th. Please be prepared as most of the vendors accept only cash and check for payment.

Recipe of the Week
Just because it's fall doesn't mean we have to cover our grills for good. Try this easy fall recipe on the grill!
Grilled Pancetta Wrapped Pumpkin
Ingredients:
1 pumpkin, skin removed, seeded, and cut into 1 inch thich wedges
8 slices pancetta
1/4 cup olive oil
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
salt
black pepper
Preparation: Preheat grill for medium to medium- low heat. Brush pumpkin pieces with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Wrap with pancetta and place onto grill. Cook for 13-15 minutes, turning occasionally. When pumpkin is tender and pancetta is crisp, remove from heat and drizzle with balsamic vinegar before serving.

Cook Time: 15 minutes
