Charlie has a Girlfriend!

Charlie has a Girlfriend!

You'll be glad to know that Baby Charlie is doing well! Over the weekend he seems to have grown a tremendous amount - both physically and in personality! We think it must be the influence of the "New Girl in Town" - Isabelle!

Isabelle was born on Saturday evening. She's a very pretty Swiss Brown Cow, with a beautiful white crown and long black eyelashes! She seems to have settled into the farm very well, and Charlie loves having a playmate with him! Just this morning we found Isabelle licking Charlie while he slept - a true "Kodak Moment!"

Come and visit Isabelle and Charlie any day at the farm, they will be waiting for you in The Red Barn!

The Green Market!

The Green Market!

The bounty created by our vendors just keeps growing here at the Green Market at Traders Point Creamery!  Make it a great evening out with a tour of the farm (see the new baby cows!), a delightful dinner and a local food shopping bonanza with all your favorite items to stock up on.  The tomatoes are in high season (Seldom Seen Farm and LIFE Farm): dress them up with some fresh goat cheese (Capriole), basil (Full Circle Farm and Seldom Seen Farm) and a bit of hot pepper oil (Redwine Farm) and you have a lovely summer dish.  Like that idea?  Ask our growers for other ideas of what you can do with their fresh, local products.  It’s all just too good to miss!  We’ll see you on Friday!

1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of couscous
1 medium tomato
1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons of balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil
1 – 1 ½ pints of red & yellow cherry tomatoes
¼ cup packed with fresh basil leaves

In a 2-quart saucepan bring water and salt to a boil and stir in couscous. Immediately remove pan from heat and let couscous stand, covered, 5 minutes. Cut tomato into quarters and in a blender puree with mustard and vinegar until smooth. With motor running, add oil in a slow stream. Season dressing with salt and pepper.
