Winter Farmer's Market

Start off 2009 right with a trip to the Green Market at Trader’s Point Creamery!  Choose from a great selection of local food and meet the folks who made it possible -  the farmers, bakers, meadmakers, soap makers, coffee roasters, dairymen (and women) and ranchers.  All of them work hard to create wonderful local foods so you may both be nourished and support the local economy.  What a way for everyone to win!  Don’t forget to head on over to the Loft Restaurant for a spot of breakfast - We can’t WAIT to see you on Saturday!

New Year's Party Food

Goat Cheese Phyllo Bites

8 oz Capriole Goat Cheese
8 oz TPC Herb Fromage
1/2 cup toasted pine nuts
1 pkg phyllo dough

1/2 cup melted butter
1 jar pepper jelly

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Mix the goat cheese and fromage together with the pine nuts and set aside.

Thaw phyllo according to pkg instructions. Lay one sheet of phyllo on
a dry work surface and brush with melted butter. Lay another sheet on
top of the buttered sheet and brush the second sheet with butter.
Repeat until the dough is 4 layers thick. Using a pizza cutter or
sharp knife, cut the phyllo into 1 1/2 inch strips (width, not
lenghwise).
Place 1 Tablespoon of the cheese mixture at the end of each strip and
fold the strip into a triangle, as you would a flag, or paper
football. Repeat all steps until phyllo has all been used. Lay the
triangles on a parchment lined baking sheet and cook approx. 10
minutes, or until phyllo is golden brown. Remove from oven, place
triangles on a baking sheet, and serve with warmed pepper jelly.
