Rise and Shine
Join us for breakfast every Saturday morning from 9 am-12 noon in the Creamery Loft. This weekend, we're serving up Scrambled Eggs, Biscuits and Gravy, American Fried Potatoes and Oatmeal on the breakfast buffet for those who like a hot, home-cooked meal. If that's too much for you, try your favorite Traders Point Creamery Yogurt as a parfait at the Make-Your-Own Yogurt Parfait Bar. We also have Hot chocolate, coffee and tea to warm you up as you wander throughout the farm and Green Market. If you're more like a polar bear, we serve ice cream at the Dairy Bar as well as milkshakes all day long.
Lunch in the Creamery Loft
Join us for lunch in the Creamery Loft Wednesday-Saturday from 11:30-2pm. We have a unique menu in that we strive to use locally grown or produced, fresh, in season, organic ingredients to create our menu. (Of course, that's true for our breakfasts and dinners, too!)
You'll find your favorites like hamburgers and grilled cheese; but, they are made with 100% grass-fed beef from TPC and our Fleur de la Terre on breads handmade by Bill and Maria Smietana of Valentine Hill Farm, one of the vendors at The Green Market. The whole menu is available online at www.traderspointcreamery.com. You have to just stop by to see what specials the chef is offering. Last week it was Cream of Mushroom soup made with mushrooms grown by Steve and Anita Spencer of Homestead Growers, another vendor at The Green Market.
The setting of the Creamery Loft also adds to the uniqueness of lunch at Traders Point Creamery. The Creamery Loft is upstairs in our Dairy Barn which is one of several barns on the property. You may be thinking a barn is just a barn; but, our barns are original, refurbished barns from the 1800's that were saved from demolition, purchased and moved here. You can see the original hand hewn marks in the wood and the pegs used to hold it all together. It's a history lesson in and of itself!
So, come on out and spend the day on the farm. You can join us for lunch and the milking, breakfast and a tour, or come for the milking and stay around for dinner. The point is to come join us because we think we have something pretty special to offer whether you are a history buff, a nature buff, or you just enjoy great food!

Recipe of the Week
Spicy Roasted Corn Chowder
So perfect for lunch on a cold winter day. Tastes even better the next day. The quantities are rough estimates so feel free to adjust to your family's tastes or add your own unique touches.
2 Bags- frozen corn (or equivalent fresh corn kernels)
1 cup- diced celery
1 cup- diced onion
2 sweet potatoes- peeled and cubed
3 tbs- canned chipotle peppers with adobo- pureed or finely chopped
1 tsp- dried oregano
1 tsp- cumin
4 cups- chicken or vegetable broth
4 tbs- vegetable or olive oil
1 quart Traders Point Whole Milk
1 package Fromage Blanc
salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 450. Spread corn on a sheet pan and roast in oven till kernels are starting to brown. Coat sweet potatoes in 2 tbs oil and roast in the oven on a separate pan till they are soft and edges are starting to brown. Sautee onion and celery in 2 tbs oil in a large stock pot till soft. Add chipotle with adobo, dried spices and roasted corn. Stir in chicken or vegetable stock and milk. Remove half of the soup (with lots of corn included) and blend in a blender or food processor till totally smooth (this will thicken the soup without having to add cream). Return pureed soup to the pot and add roasted sweet potatoes. Simmer on low for a little while to let flavors develop. Season with salt, pepper or a little more chipotle to taste. Serve with a dollop of Traders Point Creamery Fromage Blanc to mellow out spiciness.
